Oxford Dark Eye Micro Indicator Flush Fit

The Oxford Dark Eye is an ultra-compact LED indicator designed to sit flush against the bodywork, so it reads as a discreet side repeater rather than a conventional stalk-mounted blinker. Oxford describes it as the world's first CE-approved micro-indicator of this flush-fit type.

It suits riders tidying up the rear or front end of a naked bike, cafe racer or custom build who want a minimal look without dropping to non-compliant lighting — the unit is E-marked for road use and built to a waterproof, sealed design.

Dark smoked lenses keep the indicator visually subtle when it is off, while three LEDs behind the lens provide a bright, sharp signal when it is working. Mounting is via a standard M8 threaded bolt.

Fit to a clean, flat mounting surface with an M8 (1.25 pitch) hole so the base seats flush — uneven or over-tightened mounting can distort the ABS body and break the water seal.
Check that the mounting point is free of paint burrs and corrosion before fitting, and confirm the indicator has a sound earth path if the mount is used as the return.
Route and secure the wiring clear of hot exhaust components, suspension travel, steering lock stops and sharp edges; use protective sleeving where the loom passes through bodywork.
Make all connections sealed and insulated (heat-shrunk crimps or soldered joints) so moisture cannot track into the wiring, even though the indicator itself is waterproof.
Because LED indicators draw far less current than filament globes (2.6W each here), the flasher relay may hyper-flash or fail to cancel — a purpose-made LED flasher relay or load resistors may be needed for correct flash rate.
On a 12V system only; do not connect to a non-12V supply or run the indicator through a dimmer or PWM circuit.
Clean the smoked lens with a soft damp cloth and mild soapy water only. Avoid solvents, petrol, degreasers and strong wheel or chain cleaners, which can craze or cloud ABS.
Do not use abrasive pads or high-pressure washers directly on the lens or the seam between lens and housing.
Periodically check that the mounting bolt remains tight and that the lens is free of cracks or internal moisture; replace the unit if water ingress or LED failure is evident.
Confirm final fitment complies with the indicator position, spacing and visibility rules in your state's road rules before riding on the road.
