The OptiMate 4 Quad is a fully automatic 12V battery charger and maintainer from TecMate, designed specifically for motorcycles, scooters, and other powersports vehicles. Its 1.2A output is gentle enough for the smaller batteries found in modern motorcycles, making it well suited to regular use and long-term storage maintenance.
The OptiMate 4 Quad steps through four automatic programs — from initial desulfation of deeply discharged batteries through to a safe long-term maintenance float — with no manual intervention required. It is a practical choice for riders who store their bike seasonally or simply want to keep their battery in peak condition between rides.

- Connect the O-ring lead permanently to the battery terminals (red to positive, black to negative) for convenient plug-and-play charging without opening panels each time.
- Alternatively, use the battery clip lead for a quick temporary connection — always connect red clip first, then black.
- Plug the charger into mains power after connecting to the battery, not before, to avoid sparking near the battery.
- Do not attempt to charge a frozen battery; allow it to return to room temperature first.
- Leave the charger connected during long storage periods — it will automatically switch to a safe maintenance float and will not overcharge.
- Keep the charger and leads clean and dry; wipe with a dry cloth if damp. Do not immerse in water.
- Inspect the leads and connectors regularly for corrosion or damage; replace if the insulation is cracked or terminals are heavily corroded.
- Store the charger indoors in a cool, dry location when not in use for extended periods.
