- Ensure the helmet visor is correctly aligned in its mounting position before inserting screws.
- Hand-tighten screws initially to confirm correct thread engagement before applying final torque.
- Do not overtighten — over-torquing can strip the screw heads or crack visor mounting tabs.
- Use the correct screwdriver head size and type to avoid damaging the screw heads.
- Inspect screw tightness periodically, particularly after off-road or high-vibration riding.
- Replace any screw that shows signs of corrosion, stripping or deformation — do not reuse damaged fasteners.
- Store unused screws in a dry location to prevent corrosion prior to installation.
