The NOCO GB70 Boost HD is a compact lithium-ion jump starter that delivers 2000 amps peak for 12V lead-acid batteries, including wet, AGM, maintenance-free and gel types. It is built to bring a flat battery back to life in seconds, with enough grunt for petrol engines up to 8 litres and diesel engines up to 6 litres.

It suits riders and owners running more than one vehicle — bikes, cars, boats, caravans and light trucks — who want a single pack that lives in the garage or travels in a top box, ute or tender. NOCO's spark-proof connection and reverse polarity protection make it straightforward to use, even for anyone who is not confident around batteries.

Beyond starting, the GB70 doubles as a roadside power source: a USB output for phones, tablets and other USB devices, plus a 400 lumen LED torch with seven modes including SOS and emergency strobe.

  • Charge the GB70 fully before first use, and top it up again after every jump start so it is ready for the next one.
  • Use only 12V lead-acid batteries (wet, AGM, maintenance-free or gel) — connect the red clamp to positive and the black clamp to negative, and follow the connection sequence in the supplied user guide.
  • If the vehicle does not start, stop and let the unit rest between attempts rather than cranking repeatedly.
  • Recharge via the supplied micro USB cable from a USB supply or a 12V USB port; a mains USB adaptor will generally charge it faster than a low-output port.
  • Do not leave the pack sitting flat. Recharge it periodically during storage — lithium cells self-discharge over time and long periods at a low state of charge shorten their life.
  • Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and away from extreme heat, such as a closed vehicle in summer.
  • Wipe the housing and cables with a soft, lightly damp cloth; avoid solvents, petrol and abrasive cleaners.
  • Keep the clamp jaws clean and free of corrosion or grease so they bite properly on the terminals, and check the leads for nicks or damaged insulation before use.
  • Avoid submerging the unit or leaving it exposed to standing water, and dry it off before charging or storing.
  • Remember that the USB output draws from the same internal battery — keep enough charge in reserve if you are relying on the pack for starting.
