The Nitromousse Soft is a foam mousse tube for a 120/100-18 rear tyre, developed by Nuetech as a puncture-proof alternative to a conventional inner tube. It suits enduro, hard enduro and off-road riders who want to stop worrying about flats on rocky, rutted or sharp terrain without accepting the dull, wooden feel that mousses have traditionally been known for.

Rather than a simple foam core, Nitromousse uses a high concentration of nitrogen locked into a tough micro-matrix of proprietary elastomers. The result is a plusher, more pneumatic feel with a low-pressure, progressive character that absorbs impacts and resists deflection, while the durable compound is built to outlast conventional mousses.

No break-in period is needed — the mousse delivers its intended feel from the first ride, so there's no bedding-in procedure to follow.
Use a dedicated mousse lubricant during fitting, applied to the mousse and the inside of the tyre, so the mousse can move against the tyre carcass instead of tearing itself apart through friction and heat.
Fit with proper tyre levers and rim protection, and take care not to nick or gouge the mousse during installation — cuts become failure points.
Re-lubricate at tyre changes: whenever the tyre comes off, inspect the mousse and re-apply lubricant before refitting.
Inspect the mousse periodically for shrinkage, hardening, splits or chunking. A mousse that has lost volume or gone hard has reached the end of its service life and should be replaced.
Do not attempt to inflate a mousse or run it alongside an inner tube — it is a solid insert and needs no air.
Store spare mousses in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and away from petrol, solvents and oils, which degrade the elastomer.
