Nitromousse Platinum (10-12 PSI) 140/100-18

The Nitromousse Platinum is a solid foam mousse tube that takes the place of a conventional pneumatic inner tube in a 140/100-18 rear tyre. It is moulded from a proprietary elastomer containing millions of nitrogen-charged micro-cells, so it supports the tyre without air and cannot be punctured or pinched.

Platinum is the standard-density Nitromousse and simulates roughly 10-12 psi — a firm, predictable feel suited to motocross, enduro and off-road riding where sharp rocks, roots and hard-edged ruts would otherwise end a day with a flat. Because there is no air to lose, there is nothing to check before a ride and no pressure drop mid-moto.

Check your tyre size against the Nitromousse fitment guide before fitting — mousse sizing does not always correspond directly to tyre sizing.
Fit with a mousse-specific lubricant applied generously to the mousse and the inside of the tyre; running a mousse dry will overheat and destroy it quickly.
Do not use petroleum-based tyre fitting compounds, soaps or solvents, as these attack the foam.
Use rim protectors and take care with tyre levers so the foam is not nicked, torn or trapped against the bead during fitting.
A mousse is a consumable — it softens and loses its effective pressure with heat and hours of use. Re-check its firmness at each tyre change and replace it once it feels noticeably soft or has compressed.
Re-lubricate the mousse whenever you change the tyre, and inspect it for splits, chunking or flat spots at the same time.
Mousses generate heat at sustained speed; they are intended for off-road riding rather than extended high-speed sealed-road use.
Store spare mousses flat and uncompressed in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight and away from fuels, oils and solvents.
No pressure checks are needed before riding, but still inspect the tyre carcass and rim for damage as you normally would.
