The Nelson-Rigg NR-215 Weekender is an expandable motorcycle tail bag that grows from 31 to 40 litres, so a single bag covers both the daily commute and an overnight trip. Its rigid construction and solid base panel hold shape under load rather than sagging over the rear guard, and the main compartment is large enough to swallow a full-face helmet when expanded.

It suits riders who want luggage that can move between bikes without a permanent mounting system. Quick-release self-fastening straps let it sit on a luggage rack, top of a trunk, against a sissy bar or straight onto the pillion seat, and it can be fitted directly to the seat with the optional NR-USA under-seat attachment.

Built from Nelson-Rigg's UltraMax fabric for UV resistance, the Weekender adds reflective piping for night-time visibility, lockable main compartment zippers and a waterproof rain cover for wet-weather riding.

Fit the bag with the quick-release self-fastening straps pulled firm and even, then check tension again after the first few kilometres and at each fuel stop on longer rides.
Centre the load over the rack or seat and pack heavier items low and forward so the bag does not shift under braking or acceleration.
Use the expansion zip only when you need the extra capacity, and repack so the contents still sit snugly - a part-filled expanded bag is more likely to flap at speed.
Fit the supplied waterproof rain cover before heading into wet weather rather than after; the UltraMax outer resists UV but the cover is what keeps the contents dry.
Run a padlock through the main compartment zipper pulls when leaving the bike unattended, and take valuables with you - the bag is a deterrent, not a safe.
Clean with a soft cloth, warm water and mild soap. Avoid solvents, petrol and strong detergents, which can damage the fabric coating and reflective piping.
Let the bag and rain cover dry completely in the shade before storing, and never dry either near an exhaust or direct heat source.
Store unpacked in a cool, dry place with the zippers slightly open so the interior can breathe and the fabric keeps its shape.
Check the straps, buckles and stitching for wear, fraying or UV damage before long trips and replace worn straps rather than riding on them.
Keep the bag and straps clear of the exhaust, indicators and number plate, and confirm your tail light and plate remain visible once loaded.
