The Nelson-Rigg NR-300 Traveler is a large, rigid-bodied tail bag that straps to the rear luggage rack or tour trunk rack of most touring motorcycles, including Harley Ultra, Honda Gold Wing and Indian Roadmaster fitments. It is built around Nelson-Rigg's UltraMax fabric for UV resistance, and holds its shape whether it is packed full or half empty.

It suits touring and long-weekend riders who need serious luggage volume without a hard top box. There is enough room for two full-face helmets before you even open the expansion section, and an included waterproof rain cover means an unexpected downpour doesn't end the trip early.

Off the bike it works like ordinary luggage — three carry handles, a structured body that stands up on its own, and reflective piping that keeps you visible on the road. Supplied in black.

  • UltraMax fabric construction for UV protection
  • 63 litres main compartment, expanding to 73.5 litres
  • 7.5 cm expansion section for extra packing volume
  • Holds two full-face helmets even when not expanded
  • Mounts to most tour trunk luggage racks, including Harley Ultra, Gold Wing and Indian Roadmaster
  • Quick-release mounting straps for fast removal
  • Lockable main zippers
  • Three generous outer pockets
  • Rigid overall construction so the bag holds its shape
  • Three carry handles for carrying off the bike
  • Reflective piping for added visibility
  • Waterproof rain cover included

  • Mount the bag squarely on the rack or tour trunk rack and tension all quick-release straps evenly before riding; recheck tension after the first few kilometres and at each fuel stop.
  • Keep straps clear of the exhaust, indicators, brake light and any moving suspension or chain components.
  • Use the lockable main zippers with a small padlock (not included) when leaving the bike unattended.
  • Only expand the 7.5 cm section when you need the extra volume, and repack so heavier items sit low and forward to limit sway at speed.
  • Fit the supplied rain cover before rain arrives rather than during it, and make sure it is secured so it cannot lift or flap at highway speeds.
  • Remove the bag from the bike before washing it; clean with a soft brush or cloth, warm water and mild soap, and avoid solvents, bleach and pressure washers.
  • Allow the bag and rain cover to air dry fully before packing away, so damp fabric does not develop mould or odours.
  • Store empty in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, keeping the bag upright so the rigid body holds its shape.
  • Check straps, buckles and zippers periodically for fraying or wear, and don't overload the bag beyond what your rack is rated to carry.
