The Nelson-Rigg NR-230 Destination is a large 53-litre tail bag built for riders who need real luggage capacity without fitting hard panniers or a top box. It straps to a rear rack, sissy bar or pillion seat, so it suits touring, weekends away and commuting on almost any bike.
Rigid side construction and a solid base panel keep the bag square and upright when loaded, while the divided upper and lower compartments let you separate wet gear, tools and clothing. The upper divider unzips when you'd rather carry one long or bulky load, and a waterproof rain cover is included for wet-weather riding.
Made from Nelson-Rigg's UltraMax fabric in black with reflective piping, it's designed to stand up to sustained sun exposure and stay visible at night. A carry handle makes it easy to lift straight off the bike and take with you.

- Fit the bag centrally over the rack, sissy bar or pillion seat and tension all quick-release straps evenly so the load sits square and cannot shift under braking.
- Keep straps, buckles and the bag body well clear of the exhaust, chain, indicators and rear wheel; route and secure any excess strap so it cannot flap or catch.
- Re-check strap tension after the first few kilometres of a trip and again at fuel stops, particularly when the expansion section is in use.
- Pack heavier items low in the main compartment and keep the load balanced side to side; avoid overloading beyond what your bike's rack or seat is rated to carry.
- Fit the included rain cover before riding into sustained wet weather rather than after — the cover is the bag's waterproofing.
- Unzip the internal panel between the top and main sections when carrying long or bulky loads, then re-zip it to keep smaller items separated.
- The zip pulls are designed to accept a small padlock or cable lock for security when the bike is unattended; a lock is not supplied.
- Clean with a sponge, lukewarm water and mild soap, then air dry away from direct heat. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, dry clean, pressure wash or use solvents, petrol or harsh cleaners.
- Keep zip tracks free of road grit and dust so they run smoothly, and rinse off salt or mud after coastal and wet rides.
- Make sure the bag and rain cover are completely dry before storage, then store unpacked in a cool, dry place with the base flat to protect the rigid panels and avoid mildew.
