The Nelson-Rigg CL-1060-S2 Commuter Sport is a medium tail bag built for the daily commute and day rides. It mounts to most road bike tail sections or directly to the seat using a quick-release nylon buckle system, and holds 16.5 litres — expanding to 22 litres when you need to carry more on the way home.
The updated S2 uses Nelson-Rigg's UltraMax fabric with high UV resistance, paired with a moulded EVA lid featuring Fibertech carbon-like accents so the bag keeps its shape rather than slumping over the tail. Reflective piping and a flush-mount reflective carry handle add visibility, while a non-slip base material helps protect bodywork and stop the bag shifting.
A 100% waterproof rain cover and an adjustable shoulder strap are included, making it a straightforward choice for riders who want secure, weather-ready soft luggage without a rack or permanent hardware.

- Fit the bag using the supplied straps and quick-release buckles, following the Nelson-Rigg fitment instructions, and route straps clear of the exhaust, chain, indicators and any moving parts.
- Check strap tension and buckle engagement before every ride, and re-check after the first few kilometres on a new fitment.
- Use the internal self-fastening straps and the adjustable divider arrangement to stop contents shifting under braking and acceleration.
- Don't overload the expandable top section — expand it only as far as the zip closes easily, and keep heavier items low and central so the bag sits stable on the seat.
- Fit the waterproof rain cover before riding into wet weather rather than after; the cover, not the bag body, is what keeps contents dry in sustained rain.
- Make sure the seat and the non-slip base are clean and free of grit before mounting, as trapped dirt is what marks paintwork.
- Clean with a soft cloth or sponge, warm water and mild soap. Avoid solvents, petrol, degreasers and high-pressure washing, and do not machine wash or tumble dry.
- Allow the bag and rain cover to air dry fully, out of direct sunlight, before packing away — storing them damp encourages mildew and odour.
- Keep zippers clean and free of grit so the reverse coil zips keep running smoothly; the zips are lockable, but the bag is not theft-proof, so remove it and take valuables with you when parked.
- Store unzipped and lightly stuffed in a cool, dry place so the moulded lid and body keep their shape.
