Description

The Navman MiVue Rider DC is a dual-channel helmet camera developed and tested for Australian and New Zealand riding conditions. Mounted to the side of the helmet, it captures what is ahead of you and what is behind you at the same time, so your footage follows your head rather than the bike.

It suits commuters who want an impartial record of every ride, tourers who like to condense a long day into a short clip, and anyone who wants ride data and video in one place through the MiVue Pro companion app. Footage is GPS tagged with location and speed, and the tagging can be switched off entirely if you would rather it wasn't there.

A microSD card is required and is not included. The MiVue Pro app and a Wi-Fi enabled phone are needed for transfer and sharing.

Operations & maintenance

Fit the adhesive mount to a clean, dry, degreased area on the side of the helmet shell and allow the adhesive to cure fully before riding with the camera attached.
The magnetic mount acts as the on/off switch: clipping the camera on starts recording and gives a vibration alert, and lifting it off stops recording and saves battery.
Use a Class 10 UHS-1 to UHS-3 microSD card up to 256GB; high-endurance cards are recommended because the camera writes continuously.
Charge the 3200mAh battery fully before long rides; expect up to 4.5 hours of continuous recording from a full charge.
Offload protected event clips to your phone or computer regularly so they don't build up and reduce the space available for normal loop recording.
Install the Navman MiVue Pro app (Android 8.0+ or iOS 11.0+) and connect over Wi-Fi to review, transfer and share footage; the camera holds events and uploads them once it reconnects.
Turn GPS tagging off in the app if you don't want location and speed data embedded in your video.
The camera is rated IP67, so rain is not a problem, but rinse off road grime, salt and insects afterwards and dry it before storage.
Clean the front and rear lenses with a soft, dry microfibre cloth only; avoid solvents, alcohol and abrasive cloths, which can haze the lens covers.
Store the camera charged, out of direct sunlight and away from extreme heat, and remove it from the helmet when the bike is left unattended.
