A direct replacement clutch cable from MTX Parts, made to suit the Kawasaki KX450F from 2009 to 2014. It is built to meet or exceed the specification of the original equipment cable, so it fits and functions as the standard item does.
Suited to riders replacing a cable that has stretched, frayed or become notchy, whether that is routine maintenance before a race weekend or a repair after a hard season. The nylon-lined inner and protective black vinyl outer housing are intended to keep the clutch action smooth and consistent over a long service life.

- Confirm your model year falls within 2009-2014 for the KX450F before fitting, as clutch cable lengths and fitments vary between model years and generations.
- Route the new cable along the original OEM path, keeping it clear of the exhaust, steering stops and any pinch points, and avoid tight bends that can bind the inner wire.
- Check that the clutch operates smoothly through the full range of steering lock in both directions before riding.
- Set clutch lever free play using the in-line or lever-side adjuster, then tighten the locknut so the setting does not move.
- Re-check free play after the first ride or two, as a new cable can settle and stretch slightly during initial use.
- Inspect the cable regularly for kinks, cuts in the vinyl housing or frayed strands at the ends, and replace it if any damage is found.
- After riding in mud, sand or wet conditions, rinse and dry the cable ends and check that the action is still light and free.
- Do not over-tighten the adjuster to remove all free play, as this can cause the clutch to slip and overheat.
- Carry the old cable as a spare only if it is still serviceable; otherwise discard it and keep a fresh spare for race days.
