Description

The MTX 7075 T6 alloy rim is a replacement motorcycle rim in a 17 x 1.40 size with 36 spoke holes, finished in black anodising. It is built from 7075 T6 series aluminium, a high-strength alloy chosen to be stronger and more durable than many stock rims, making it a sound choice for motocross, enduro and off-road use as well as general OEM wheel replacement.

Because it is designed to work with stock spokes, it suits riders rebuilding a damaged wheel or refreshing a tired hub without sourcing a complete new wheel set. The anodised surface adds hard-wearing corrosion and scuff resistance while keeping a clean, understated black look.

Confirm the correct diameter and width for your make, model and year before ordering, and note that spoke angle and nipple fit may need adjusting for some applications — professional wheel building is recommended.

Operations & maintenance

Confirm the rim diameter, width and spoke hole count suit your make, model and year before starting the build — use a parts finder or fitment guide if you are unsure.
Have the wheel laced and trued by a skilled wheel builder; spoke angle and spoke nipple fit may need adjustment for some applications even when the diameter and width are correct.
Tension spokes evenly and re-check tension after the first few rides, then periodically, as spokes typically bed in and loosen after a rebuild.
Use rim tape or a rim band over the spoke nipples before fitting a tube so the tube is not chafed or pinched.
Fit tyres with plenty of tyre lubricant and use rim protectors or plastic-faced levers to avoid gouging the anodised surface.
Wash with mild soapy water and a soft cloth or brush, then rinse and dry; avoid harsh acidic or caustic wheel cleaners and abrasive pads, which can dull or stain anodising.
Rinse off mud, sand and salt promptly after wet or beach riding to protect the finish and spoke nipples.
Inspect the rim regularly for dents, flat spots, cracks or elongated spoke holes, particularly after heavy landings or hard impacts, and replace it if damage is found rather than attempting to straighten it.
Keep tyre pressures at the manufacturer's recommended settings — low pressures increase the risk of rim damage on impacts.
Store spare rims flat or hung, away from damp and out of direct sunlight, and keep hard objects from resting against the bead seats.
