Motul E11 Matte Surface Clean is a spray-on cleaner developed specifically for matte finishes. Its formula lifts dirt and grime from matte plastics and painted areas, then dries to a flat, non-sticky finish rather than adding the shine that general-purpose cleaners and polishes can leave behind.
It also carries a protective UV filter, which helps guard treated surfaces against sun exposure and keeps a matte finish looking consistent for longer. A sensible choice for riders with matte-painted tanks, fairings, panels and helmets, as well as matte trim on cars and other vehicles.
Supplied in a 400 mL spray can.

- Shake the can well before use.
- Work on a cool surface out of direct sunlight, and let hot bodywork or exhaust-adjacent panels cool first.
- Rinse off loose grit and road debris before spraying, so you aren't dragging abrasive particles across the finish.
- Spray onto the surface (or onto a cloth for tight areas and around switchgear, seals and electrics) and wipe over with a clean, soft microfibre cloth.
- Use a fresh, dry side of the cloth to finish, which helps avoid streaking and leaves the even matte appearance the product is designed for.
- Test on a small, inconspicuous area first if you're unsure how a particular finish or aftermarket wrap will react.
- Use it only where a matte result is wanted — it isn't intended for glossy paintwork, and keep it off helmet visors, screens and other optical surfaces.
- Don't follow up with wax, polish or gloss detailer on matte panels, as these will alter the flat finish.
- Replace the cap after use and store the can upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat sources and open flame.
- Keep out of reach of children, and follow the safety directions and disposal advice printed on the can.
