  • Before installation, route the new cable to match the original OEM path, ensuring no sharp bends or kinks.
  • Lubricate the cable inner wire with a cable lubricant prior to fitting, and re-lubricate periodically — especially after riding in wet or muddy conditions.
  • After fitting, adjust freeplay at the throttle housing to manufacturer specification; there should be a small amount of slack with the bars turned to full lock in both directions.
  • Check that the throttle snaps shut instantly when released from full open — with bars at straight ahead, full left and full right lock.
