- Clean the mirror glass with a soft, damp microfibre cloth; avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that can haze the reflective surface.
- Do not use high-pressure water directly on the mirror housing, as this can force moisture into the stem or adjustment mechanism.
- Check mirror tightness before each ride — vibration can gradually loosen the mounting bolt over time.
- Adjust the mirror to provide a clear view of the lane behind before moving off; re-check after any impact or knock.
- Inspect the mirror stem and housing periodically for cracks or stress marks, particularly after a drop or low-speed tip-over.
- If the mirror develops excessive play in the pivot, tighten or replace the pivot bolt rather than riding with compromised rear vision.
