The Midland MLH Lite is a compact pair of supplementary LED spotlights designed to add usable light to a motorcycle without a complicated install. The housing is machined aluminium with an optical glass lens and a protective surface coating, and the body shape helps dissipate heat so output stays consistent on longer runs. It carries an IP68 rating for protection against dust and water immersion.

Each light offers a white long-range beam and a yellow short-range fog beam, with a mixed mode that runs both. Modes are changed on the move using the supplied wireless handlebar remote, so you can adapt to fog, rain or an unlit back road without taking a hand off the bars for long.

The universal brackets suit handlebars and tubes from Ø10 to Ø32 mm with no modification, and the low current draw makes the kit practical on smaller-capacity bikes and scooters as well as larger machines. Midland states the spotlights are approved for road use.

  • Mount the spotlights on bars or tubes between Ø10 and Ø32 mm using the supplied universal brackets, and check the bracket fasteners for tightness after the first few rides and periodically thereafter — vibration can loosen them over time.
  • Aim the beams while the bike is loaded as you normally ride it, and set them low enough that they do not dazzle oncoming traffic; local road rules govern how auxiliary lights may be used and aimed.
  • Route the power cable and control unit wiring clear of the steering lock, suspension travel, exhaust heat and any pinch points, and secure any slack so it cannot chafe.
  • Clean the optical glass lens with a soft damp cloth and mild soapy water only; avoid solvents, fuel, abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which can mark the lens and the protective coating on the housing.
  • Let the units cool before cleaning or handling after extended use — LED spotlights dissipate heat through the housing.
  • The IP68 rating covers dust and water immersion, but do not aim a high-pressure washer directly at the lights, connectors or the control unit.
  • If a mode stops responding, first replace the CR2032 cell in the wireless remote and check that the control unit connections are clean, dry and fully seated.
  • Remove the remote's battery if the bike is being stored for an extended period, and keep the connectors dry and free of corrosion.
  • Inspect the lens and housing for chips or cracks after any impact or stone strike; damage to the lens or seal will compromise the IP68 protection.
