The Merlin Catton III is the third generation of Merlin's long-running all-leather glove, built for autumn and winter riding in a classic brown finish. It pairs a super-soft leather outer with a warm fixed lining and a waterproof, breathable Sympatex membrane, so it stays comfortable through cold starts, damp commutes and long weekend rides.

This generation has been made lighter than the version before it while improving insulation, breathability and weather protection. The membrane is a fully recycled, circular-loop Sympatex construction produced using around half the water of conventional manufacturing — a practical choice for riders who want cold-weather performance without a bulky, over-built glove.

Suited to road and touring riders on naked bikes, retros, cruisers and modern classics who want a leather winter glove with genuine dexterity and D3O knuckle protection.

Allow a short break-in period — the soft leather will relax and mould to your hands with use.
After wet or dirty rides, wipe the leather with a soft damp cloth and let the gloves air dry naturally at room temperature.
Keep gloves away from direct heat such as heaters, hairdryers and exhaust pipes; heat can shrink and harden leather and damage the membrane.
Do not machine wash, tumble dry or dry clean, and avoid solvents, petrol-based cleaners and harsh detergents.
Use a leather conditioner sparingly to keep the outer supple; avoid heavy waxes or silicone treatments that can clog the leather and reduce breathability.
Fasten the wrist and cuff Velcro before storing so the hook tape does not snag the microfleece lining or other gear.
Store dry, out of direct sunlight, and never pack the gloves away damp.
Keep the conductive index finger and thumb tips clean and dry for reliable touchscreen response.
Check the seams, overlay reinforcements and Velcro closures periodically for wear, and retire gloves that have taken a significant crash impact.
