The Motobatt PDC Water Boy is a compact 12V, 1 amp charger and maintainer built for the kind of places bikes actually live — carports, sheds, trailers and open driveways. Its waterproof housing means it can stay connected outdoors, while the automatic 9-step algorithm handles the thinking: it assesses the battery, recovers it if needed, charges it, then drops back to maintenance so the battery can be left on charge indefinitely.

It suits 12V AGM, conventional lead-acid, calcium and gel batteries from 2Ah to 33Ah for charging, and will maintain batteries up to 80Ah — making it a sensible match for motorcycles, scooters, ATVs, jet skis, ride-on mowers and other powersports machines, particularly seasonal or weekend bikes that sit for weeks at a time. Built-in overcharge, reverse polarity and short circuit protection, plus spark-proof operation, keep things straightforward for everyday use.

Use only on 12V AGM, conventional lead-acid, calcium or gel batteries — do not use it on lithium (LiFePO4) or other chemistries.
Match the battery to the charger's range: 2–33Ah for charging, up to 80Ah for maintenance only.
Connect the charger to the battery first, then plug into mains power; reverse the order when disconnecting.
Observe polarity (red to positive, black to negative). The reverse polarity protection will prevent charging if the leads are swapped, so check your connections if the charger does not begin.
A battery sitting below 2V will not trigger the charge cycle — this is the qualification safety check, not a fault with the charger.
Allow time for the recovery stages. On a deeply discharged or sulfated battery the rescue, soft start, pulse and recondition phases run before bulk charging begins, so a full cycle can take considerably longer than on a healthy battery.
For long-term storage or seasonal layup, leave the battery connected — once the check phase passes, the charger holds maintenance mode and only switches back on as required.
The housing is waterproof and suited to outdoor use, but keep the mains plug and any extension lead connections dry and off the ground.
Charge in a ventilated area, away from petrol, solvents and other flammable materials.
Keep the terminals and clamps clean and free of corrosion, and wipe the unit and leads with a dry or lightly damp cloth — avoid solvents.
Inspect the input cable and output leads periodically for cuts, chafing or damaged insulation, and stop using the charger if any damage is found.
Do not attempt to open the sealed housing; there are no user-serviceable parts inside.
