The Motobatt Pro Lithium MLX16UHD-HP is a lightweight lithium replacement battery from Motobatt's HP series, built as a direct-fit alternative to conventional lead-acid units in motorcycles, ATVs and other powersports machines. It ships with spacers so it can be packed out to suit a range of standard battery trays.

The HP designation refers to Motobatt's most complete protection package: unlike the standard P series, HP batteries add over-discharge protection alongside overcharge protection, temperature protection and cell balancing. That combination is aimed at riders who want the weight saving and cranking punch of lithium without giving up the safety margins of a managed pack.

Lithium batteries are classed as dangerous goods and may be subject to freight restrictions.

Charge and maintain the battery with a lithium-compatible charger — Motobatt recommends its Tech 1 or Fat Boy chargers for best performance and longest service life.
Do not use a lead-acid charger relying on desulphation, pulse or high-voltage equalisation modes, as these can exceed the pack's 15.6V overcharge threshold.
Fit the supplied spacers to suit your battery tray (MBYZ16U/HD, EVA 5 or MBTX16U dimensions) so the battery is packed out snugly and cannot move under braking or vibration.
Check that the terminals are clean, correctly polarised and firmly tightened before connecting; loose terminals cause voltage drop and heat.
If the protection circuit cuts out after the pack falls below 8.0V, recharge the battery promptly rather than leaving it flat, and investigate the cause of the discharge.
Disconnect the battery or place it on a suitable maintenance charger if the bike will be standing for an extended period, as alarms, trackers and clocks will slowly drain it.
Store the battery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
Keep the case dry and free of fuel, oil and solvents; wipe with a damp cloth only.
Do not crush, drop, puncture or open the battery, and stop using it if the case is swollen, cracked or damaged.
Recycle the battery through an authorised battery collection point at end of life — do not place it in general waste.
