- Install with a tyre mounting lubricant (soapy water is acceptable) to ease fitment and reduce the risk of pinching the tube between the tyre bead and rim.
- Begin inflation slowly — partially inflate, check the tube is not caught under the tyre bead, then inflate to the recommended pressure shown on the tyre sidewall.
- Never exceed the maximum pressure rating printed on the tyre sidewall.
- Check tyre pressure with a calibrated gauge before every ride; inner tubes lose pressure gradually over time.
- When removing a tyre, use plastic tyre levers where possible to avoid puncturing or creasing the tube.
- Inspect the tube for punctures, abrasion, or valve damage every time a tyre is changed.
- Ensure the valve stem is straight and the valve core is snug before riding — do not over-tighten the core as this can damage the rubber seat.
- Store unused tubes away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and ozone-producing equipment (motors, fluorescent lights) to prevent rubber degradation.
- Do not fold a stored tube sharply; coil it loosely inside a bag to avoid crease damage.
