Macna Higera Utility Jacket Black

The Macna Higera is a two-layer textile utility jacket built to be worn year-round. A detachable Raintex ML thermal liner and detachable waterproof membrane handle cold and wet weather, while the Summer Comfort System Lite opens mesh panels alongside the main zip when the temperature climbs.

It suits commuters, all-rounders and touring riders who want one jacket for changeable conditions rather than a separate summer and winter shell. Protection comes from RISC CE Level 1 shoulder and elbow armour, with the jacket carrying a CE EN 17092 Level A rating as protective clothing.

The utility in the name refers to the modular carrying system: the rear panel accepts Macna's P.A.L.S. base plate, which in turn takes the MUHB-1 hip bag. Both are sold separately.

Fit the detachable waterproof membrane before wet rides — the outer shell is the abrasion and wind layer, with rain protection coming from the membrane liner.
Add the Raintex ML thermal liner for cold weather and remove it, then use the Summer Comfort System Lite (open the main zip and refasten it to the second zip position) to expose the mesh panels for warm-weather airflow.
Remove both liners and take out the RISC shoulder and elbow protectors before washing; never machine wash or tumble dry the armour — wipe it with a damp cloth and let it air dry.
Close all zips, fasten the arm, cuff and waist straps and turn the jacket inside out before washing, and follow the sewn-in care label for temperature and cycle.
Avoid bleach, fabric softener, solvents and dry-cleaning fluids, as they break down the coated outer and the membrane.
Drip or line dry away from direct heat, radiators and prolonged sunlight; do not tumble dry.
Rinse road grime, salt and insects off the zips and sliders with clean water and dry them so they keep running smoothly.
Before each ride, check the shoulder and elbow protectors are seated over the joints and adjust the upper arm, forearm, cuff and waist straps for a snug fit that stops the armour shifting.
Replace any protector that has taken a crash impact, and retire the jacket if the outer shell is torn or heavily abraded.
When fitting the P.A.L.S. base plate and MUHB-1 hip bag (both sold separately), check the webbing is fully threaded and the straps are secure before riding.
Store on a hanger using the built-in coat hanger loop in a cool, dry, ventilated place rather than folded or compressed in a top box.
