- Clean the outer shell with a soft damp cloth and mild soap; never use petroleum-based solvents, abrasive cleaners or household chemicals, which can degrade the polycarbonate shell and graphics.
- Clean the visor with lukewarm water and a soft microfibre cloth; never wipe a dry visor — loose grit will scratch the surface.
- If the interior liner is removable, hand-wash it in cool water with mild detergent; check the care label and allow to air-dry completely before refitting.
- Inspect the chin strap, buckle and retention hardware regularly for fraying, cracking or looseness; a compromised retention system should be addressed before the helmet is used again.
- Replace the helmet immediately after any significant impact, even if there is no visible external damage — the EPS energy-absorbing liner is a single-use component and may be internally compromised.
- Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapour, solvents and sources of extreme heat, all of which can degrade the shell and internal foam over time.
- Avoid suspending the helmet by the chin strap for prolonged periods, as this places sustained stress on the strap anchor points.
- Do not apply paint, solvent-based adhesive stickers or aerosol products to the shell without first confirming compatibility with polycarbonate, as some agents cause crazing or structural weakening.
