Operations & maintenance

Clean the outer shell with a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and warm water; avoid petroleum-based solvents, petrol or abrasive cleaners as these damage the finish and foam liner.
Clean the visor with warm water and a soft, lint-free cloth; never wipe a dry visor as fine grit will scratch the lens.
If the inner liner is removable, hand wash it in cool water with a gentle detergent and allow it to air dry completely before refitting — never use a tumble dryer or direct heat source.
Allow the helmet to air dry naturally after wet rides; do not store it while damp.
Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel fumes and extreme heat — prolonged UV and chemical exposure degrades the EPS liner and shell over time.
Inspect the chin strap and retention buckle before each ride to confirm they are in good working order and the fastening is secure.
Replace the helmet immediately after any significant impact, even if no visible damage is apparent — internal EPS foam crushes to absorb energy and does not recover.
As a general guideline, consider replacing the helmet every five years from date of manufacture or sooner if the shell, liner or retention system shows signs of wear, regardless of use.
