Operations & maintenance

Clean the outer shell with mild soap and warm water using a soft cloth; avoid petroleum-based solvents, abrasive cleaners, or petrol, which can damage the shell finish and internal foam.
Clean the visor with a soft, damp cloth only — never wipe a dry visor as this can cause fine scratches.
Remove interior liner and cheek pads (where designed to be removable) and hand-wash in cool water with mild detergent; allow all components to air-dry completely before reassembly.
Do not apply insect repellents, sunscreen, or aerosol products near the helmet, as these can degrade polycarbonate and foam materials.
Store the helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources, which can accelerate degradation of the shell and EPS liner.
Replace the helmet after any significant impact, even where external damage is not visible — the EPS liner absorbs energy on first impact and is not designed for repeated protection.
Do not hang the helmet by its chin strap for extended periods, as sustained tension can stress the strap hardware.
As a general industry guideline, replace the helmet every five years from the date of manufacture regardless of apparent condition, as materials degrade over time.
