Operations & maintenance

Clean the outer shell with a soft damp cloth and mild soap; avoid petroleum-based solvents, petrol, or abrasive cleaners that can damage the shell or degrade the finish.
Clean the visor or face shield with warm water and a soft, lint-free cloth; never wipe a dry visor — grit trapped on the surface will cause permanent scratches.
If the interior liner is removable, hand-wash it in cool water with a mild detergent and allow it to air-dry completely before reinserting — do not tumble dry.
Do not store the helmet in direct sunlight or in enclosed spaces subject to extreme heat (e.g. inside a parked car), as prolonged UV and heat exposure degrades both the shell and internal foam.
Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from fuel, oil, and aerosol chemicals; a dedicated helmet bag reduces dust and incidental contact damage.
Replace the helmet following any significant impact, even if no external damage is visible — the energy-absorbing liner may be internally compromised.
Inspect the chin strap, buckle, and retention system regularly for fraying, cracking, or reduced function; do not ride with a damaged retention system.
As a general guideline, retire and replace the helmet after five years of regular use, or sooner if the shell, liner, or retention system shows visible signs of deterioration.
