Clean the outer shell with a soft damp cloth and mild soap; avoid petroleum-based solvents or abrasive cleaners that can degrade the shell finish.
Clean the visor/peak separately using a microfibre cloth dampened with warm water to avoid scratching.
Remove and hand-wash any removable interior liner or cheek pads with mild detergent, then air-dry completely before reinserting — never machine-dry.
Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and fuel vapours, which can degrade EPS foam and padding over time.
Avoid hanging the helmet on mirrors or handlebars for extended periods, as localised pressure can distort the retention system.
Inspect the chin strap and buckle before each ride; replace if frayed, corroded, or if the locking mechanism does not engage positively.
Replace the helmet after any significant impact, even if no external damage is visible — the EPS liner compresses permanently on impact and will not absorb a second blow effectively.
As a general guide, replace the helmet every five years from date of manufacture regardless of visible condition, or sooner if the fit, padding, or shell show signs of wear.
