Operations & maintenance

Clean the shell with a soft cloth dampened with mild soapy water; avoid petroleum-based solvents, abrasive cleaners or petrol, as these can degrade the shell finish and foam liner.
Remove the peak before washing if it detaches, and clean it separately with the same mild solution.
Wash removable interior liners (if fitted) by hand in lukewarm water with gentle detergent; allow to air-dry fully before reinserting — do not tumble dry or use a heat source.
Store the helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours and extreme temperatures, which can degrade EPS foam and retention-system components over time.
Do not hang the helmet by the chin strap for extended periods, as this can stretch the strap.
Inspect the retention system (chin strap and buckle) regularly for fraying, corrosion or stiffness and have it replaced if damaged.
Replace the helmet after any significant impact — internal EPS damage may not be visible externally.
As a general guideline, replace the helmet every five years from the date of manufacture even without impact, or sooner if the fit, shell or liner shows signs of wear or deterioration.
