The MotoDry Lightning Rain Pants are a packable waterproof over-pant built to go on over your riding gear when the weather turns. A soft polyester outer shell with PVC backing keeps water out, while the mesh lining helps them slide on and stay comfortable over a long, wet ride.

They are designed to be quick to deploy at the side of the road: an elasticised waistband handles the fit, and Velcro leg openings let you pull them on over boots without a fight. Hi-vis panels and reflective striping lift your presence in low light and poor visibility, and the included storage bag means they can live under the seat or in a tail bag until you need them.

Available in sizes S to 2XL in Black/Fluro.

  • Fit over your normal riding pants and boots — undo the Velcro leg openings first, then re-fasten them snugly around the boot to stop water tracking in.
  • Check the leg Velcro is clean and free of grit and road debris; a clogged hook-and-loop closure will not seal properly.
  • Rinse off road grime, salt and insects with cool water after wet or dirty rides, and sponge clean with a mild soap if needed.
  • Avoid solvents, petrol, degreasers, bleach and harsh detergents, which can damage the PVC backing.
  • Do not tumble dry or iron, and keep the pants away from hot exhausts and other heat sources — the PVC backing can distort or melt.
  • Hang and air dry completely, inside and out, before folding them away; packing them damp encourages mildew and odour.
  • Store rolled or loosely folded in the supplied bag, in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, rather than tightly creased in the same fold every time.
  • Inspect seams, the waistband elastic and the outer shell periodically for abrasion or splits, and replace the pants once the waterproof layer is compromised.
