  • Check lever free play and pivot operation before installation; adjust to suit your preferred brake feel.
  • Apply a light film of waterproof grease or anti-seize to the pivot bolt threads during installation to prevent corrosion and seizure.
  • Torque the pivot bolt and any fasteners to your motorcycle manufacturer's specified torque values — do not overtighten.
  • After fitting, pump the brake lever several times and confirm full brake engagement and release before riding.
  • Clean the polished finish regularly with a mild metal cleaner and a soft, lint-free cloth to prevent tarnishing and corrosion buildup.
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners, steel wool or harsh solvents that will scratch or dull the polished surface.
  • Inspect the lever and pivot area periodically for signs of wear, cracking or corrosion, particularly after exposure to wet or salt-heavy conditions.
  • Replace immediately if the lever is bent, cracked or shows structural damage — do not attempt to straighten a damaged brake lever.
