- Before installation, confirm the lever is compatible with your specific model year and variant.
- Disconnect the original lever by removing the pivot bolt and adjuster hardware; retain all original fasteners unless replacements are supplied.
- Apply a small amount of grease to the pivot point before fitting to ensure smooth operation and prevent corrosion.
- After installation, check lever free-play at the handlebar tip and adjust at the cable adjuster to meet your preference and the manufacturer's specified range for your model.
- Verify the clutch engages and disengages fully through the entire lever travel before riding.
- Periodically inspect the pivot bolt for tightness and re-grease the pivot point as part of routine maintenance.
- Clean the lever with a damp cloth; avoid harsh solvents that may damage surface finishes.
- Inspect for cracks or bending after any fall or impact and replace if structural integrity is in doubt.
