Kryptonite U-Lock - New York Fahgettaboudit Lock

The Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit is a maximum-security U-lock built for riders who park in high-theft areas. Its 18mm hardened max-performance steel shackle and high-security disc-style cylinder sit at the top of Kryptonite's range, earning a 10/10 Kryptonite security rating and a Sold Secure Gold rating.

With a 10.3 x 26cm shackle opening, it takes in a wheel and frame, or a wheel and a solid anchor point such as a post or ground anchor. At 2.76kg it is deliberately heavy — this is a lock chosen for deterrence and resistance at the destination rather than for light everyday carry.

Keep the sliding dust cover closed whenever the lock is not in use so grit and water stay out of the keyway.
Lock through the wheel and frame, or the wheel and a fixed anchor, and fill as much of the shackle space as possible so there is little room for leverage tools.
Keep the lock body off the ground where practical — it reduces the purchase an attacker can get and limits dirt entering the cylinder.
Rinse road salt, sand and mud off the lock with fresh water and dry it thoroughly before storing.
Lubricate the cylinder occasionally with a light, dry-film or Teflon-based lubricant; avoid heavy oils and grease, which attract grit.
Never force a stiff key — clean and lubricate the cylinder instead, and check the key is fully inserted before turning.
Replace the battery in the LED key fob when the light dims; keep the spare keys stored separately from the bike.
Do not use the lock as a lifting or towing point, and avoid striking the shackle or crossbar against hard surfaces.
