K&N Replacement Air Filter PL-1225 Indian Scout 1250 2025-

The K&N PL-1225 is a high-flow replacement air filter element made specifically for the Indian Scout 1250 (2025 onwards). It drops straight into the standard airbox in place of the factory paper element, using an application-specific base seal and sealing bead so it locates and seals the same way the original does.

The filter is built from multiple layers of woven cotton gauze in a pleated form, which K&N designs to give low intake restriction and a large filtration area while still protecting the engine. It arrives pre-oiled and ready to fit, and because it is washable and reusable it can be cleaned and re-oiled rather than replaced at each service.

Suited to Scout 1250 riders who want a long-service intake filter and are chasing a modest airflow gain over the stock element.

Fits straight out of the packet - the filter arrives pre-oiled, so no additional oiling is needed before the first ride.
Before fitting, check the airbox and intake tract are clean and dry, and make sure the base seal is seated evenly all the way around so unfiltered air cannot bypass the element.
Inspect the filter at the service intervals set out in your Indian Scout 1250 owner's manual, and more often if you ride on dusty or unsealed roads.
Clean with a purpose-made K&N filter cleaner and re-oil with K&N filter oil (recharger service kit sold separately) - do not use petrol, solvents, caustic cleaners or strong detergents, as these will damage the cotton media.
Rinse gently from the clean side outwards with low-pressure water; avoid pressure washers, which can distort the pleats and tear the media.
Allow the filter to air dry naturally at room temperature - do not use compressed air, heat guns or a naked flame to speed up drying.
Re-oil sparingly and evenly once fully dry, then leave it to wick in before refitting; over-oiling can leave residue in the intake tract.
Handle by the frame rather than the pleats, and store the filter flat in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and fuels or chemicals.
If the media is torn, the frame is distorted or the seal is damaged, replace the filter rather than continuing to service it.
