The K&N KHA-7523 is a direct replacement for the standard air filter element in the Honda CB750 Hornet and XL750 Transalp from 2023 onwards. It drops into the factory airbox using an application-specific base seal, so no modification or extra hardware is needed.
Instead of disposable paper, it uses pleated, oiled cotton gauze media designed for low restriction and strong engine protection. It arrives pre-oiled and ready to fit, and because it's washable and reusable, it can be cleaned and re-oiled rather than thrown away at each service.
Suited to CB750 Hornet and XL750 Transalp riders after a longer-life filter and a little more airflow from the standard intake.

- Fitted straight from the box - it comes pre-oiled, so no oiling is needed before the first ride.
- Check the rubber base seal is seated evenly all the way around the airbox opening before closing the lid; a gap here lets unfiltered air past the element.
- Clean the filter when it becomes visibly dirty or at the service interval in your Honda owner's handbook, rather than on a fixed schedule - dusty and unsealed-road riding will shorten the interval.
- Clean with a purpose-made cotton gauze filter cleaner only. Spray on, let it soak, then rinse from the clean side outwards with low-pressure water to push dirt back out of the pleats.
- Never use petrol, solvents, caustic degreasers, a pressure washer or compressed air on the media - all of these can damage the cotton gauze.
- Let the filter air dry completely and naturally. Do not use heat, a hair dryer or compressed air to speed it up.
- Re-oil only once the filter is fully dry, applying filter oil evenly along each pleat and letting it wick through for a few minutes before topping up any pale spots. Avoid over-oiling.
- Refit only when the element is dry and evenly oiled, and make sure the airbox lid and all fasteners are secure.
- Store a spare or freshly cleaned filter flat in a clean, dry place, away from dust, fuel and solvents.
- Inspect the media and seal for tears, distortion or perished rubber at each service and replace the filter if any damage is found.
