- This is a tube-type tyre — it must be fitted with a suitable inner tube and rim tape or rim band, and should not be run tubeless.
- Have fitting and balancing carried out by a qualified tyre fitter using correct tools and tyre lubricant, so the beads and the tube are not pinched or damaged during installation.
- Follow any rotation arrow or fitting-direction marking moulded into the sidewall when the tyre is mounted.
- Scrub in a new tyre gently over the first rides: build up braking, acceleration and lean angle progressively while the mould-release film wears off the tread.
- Check and set pressures cold, to the pressure specified by your motorcycle's manufacturer for this tyre size and your load — under-inflation causes rapid wear, overheating and tube damage.
- If you run low pressures off-road, use a rim lock to stop the tyre creeping on the rim; a valve stem that starts to lean at an angle is a sign the tyre has slipped and needs to be repositioned.
- Inspect regularly for cuts, splits, bulges, embedded stones or nails and uneven wear, and replace the tyre once the tread wear indicators are reached or the tread falls below the legal minimum in your state.
- Wash with mild soap and water only; keep petrol, solvents and silicone tyre-shine dressings off the tread and sidewalls.
- Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight, heat sources and electric motors, which produce ozone that degrades rubber.
