Lightly dust the outside of the tube with French chalk or talcum powder before fitting to prevent the tube sticking to the tyre interior.
Inspect the tube for any pinch marks, creases, or manufacturing blemishes before installation.
Ensure there are no sharp debris, spoke ends, or rim tape gaps inside the rim before fitting.
Partially inflate the tube just enough to give it shape before placing it inside the tyre — this reduces the risk of it folding and being pinched.
Use tyre levers carefully and keep them away from the tube when levering the final bead over the rim.
Seat the valve stem squarely through the rim hole and hand-tighten the valve nut before fully inflating.
Inflate to the pressure specified on the tyre sidewall; do not exceed the tyre's maximum rated pressure.
