The KoubaLink HL701-2 is a replacement rear suspension linkage for large-capacity dual-sport and supermoto machines, machined from billet aluminium and finished in black. It drops the rear ride height by 31.75mm or 38.1mm depending on the model and year it is fitted to, making the bike easier to manage at a standstill and in slow, technical going.
It suits riders of the KTM 690 Enduro / Enduro R, KTM 690 SMC / SMC R and Husqvarna 701 Enduro who want a lower seat height without altering the shock or fork internals. Because the link changes rear suspension geometry, it also steepens the steering angle slightly, which many riders find improves front-end stability and turn-in.
KoubaLink builds its linkages to be a direct, OEM-style replacement — the unit is assembled with OE-specification bearings and seals, and everything needed for the swap is supplied.

- Confirm your exact model and year against the fitment list before installation — the amount of lowering differs between the 2008–2018 and 2019–2021 KTM 690 models.
- Installation is a direct swap for the standard linkage; follow the manufacturer's workshop manual for removal, assembly order and fastener torque settings, and use new fasteners where the manual calls for them.
- Grease the bearings and seals on assembly and make sure the seals seat correctly, as the linkage sits low on the bike and is exposed to mud and water.
- Recheck all linkage fasteners after the first ride and again after the first few hours of use, then at your normal service intervals.
- After lowering, recheck rear suspension sag and consider balancing the geometry by adjusting fork height in the triple clamps.
- Check sidestand and centrestand lean angle and stability once the bike is lowered, and confirm the rear tyre, chain and guard still have adequate clearance through full suspension travel.
- Be aware that lowering the rear reduces ground clearance and suspension travel to the bump stop — take extra care over ruts, rocks and logs.
- Clean with water and a mild detergent; avoid high-pressure washing directly at the linkage bearings and seals.
- Strip, clean, inspect and re-grease the linkage bearings at the intervals specified in your bike's service schedule, more often after wet or muddy riding.
- Retain your original OEM linkage if you may want to return the bike to standard ride height later.
