KoubaLink 38mm Lowering Link Suzuki DR-Z4S / DR-Z4SM - Black

The KoubaLink 38mm Lowering Link is a direct bolt-on replacement for the factory rear suspension linkage on the Suzuki DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM, dropping the rear of the bike by 38 mm for a lower, more manageable seat height.

It suits riders who want more of the foot on the ground at intersections, on camber and on loose or uneven ground, without changing the standard linkage mounting points. The link installs in place of the original unit using the factory bolts and is finished in black.

Lowering the rear alters ride height, ground clearance and sidestand lean angle, so plan to check sidestand fitment and overall setup after installation.

Support the motorcycle securely and take the weight off the rear wheel before removing the factory linkage bolts.
Remove the standard link, fit the KoubaLink unit in its place and refit the original bolts, torquing them to the values in the Suzuki service manual.
Inspect, clean and re-grease the linkage bearings and seals while the link is out — it is the easiest time to service them.
Re-check the linkage bolt torque after the first ride and again at regular service intervals.
After lowering, check sidestand lean angle and stability; a shortened or adjustable sidestand may be needed so the bike parks safely.
Re-check rear brake line, chain slack, wheel alignment and tyre-to-guard clearance through full suspension travel before riding.
Remember that lowering reduces ground clearance and cornering clearance — ride accordingly, particularly over ruts, kerbs and trail obstacles.
Consider matching the front ride height (fork tubes through the clamps) to keep handling balanced, and reassess rear preload and sag.
Wash with mild soap and water and dry thoroughly; avoid aiming a pressure washer directly at the linkage bearings.
After wet, muddy or sandy rides, rinse the linkage area and inspect the link for corrosion, damage or bolt movement.
