The K&N KYA-2509 is a direct replacement air filter shaped to drop straight into the standard airbox of the Yamaha XT250 (2008-2025 models). No airbox modification, adaptors or extra hardware are needed - remove the factory element and fit the K&N in its place.

It suits XT250 owners who want a serviceable filter rather than a throw-away paper element. The cotton-gauze media is washable and re-oilable, so the same filter can be cleaned and refitted through the life of the bike, which makes it a practical choice for trail work, commuting and dusty rural riding where the airbox sees regular attention.

Cleaning and oiling products are sold separately.

  • Direct replacement for the Yamaha XT250 factory air filter element
  • Fits XT250 models from 2008 through 2025
  • Drop-in fitment - uses the standard airbox with no modification
  • Washable and reusable cotton-gauze media, serviced rather than discarded

FitmentYamaha XT250, 2008-2025
  • Confirm your model year against the fitment listing before installation, and compare the new filter with the element you remove.
  • Seat the filter fully in the airbox so the sealing edge sits flat all the way around, then refit the airbox cover and check it clamps down evenly - an unsealed filter lets unfiltered air past.
  • Inspect the filter at each routine service, and far more often after riding in sand, dust or mud.
  • Clean the cotton-gauze media with a purpose-made K&N filter cleaner; do not use petrol, solvents, strong caustic detergents or a pressure washer, as these break down the media and adhesives.
  • Rinse gently with low-pressure water from the clean side outwards to push dirt back out of the media, not deeper into it.
  • Allow the filter to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use compressed air, a heat gun or open flame to speed it up.
  • Re-oil only once the filter is completely dry, applying K&N filter oil evenly along the pleats and letting it wick through before refitting. Avoid over-oiling, which can foul the intake and any air sensors.
  • Never run the engine with the airbox empty or the filter removed.
  • Store a spare filter flat in its box, in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight, and replace the element if the media is torn, distorted or the sealing edge is damaged.
