- Never use wire, drill bits or abrasives to clear the orifice — this permanently alters the jet size and will cause incorrect fuelling.
- Clean with aerosol carburetor cleaner and blow out with compressed air only.
- Inspect the orifice and threads for wear, corrosion or damage before installation; replace if in doubt.
- Ensure the jet is seated firmly and correctly torqued — over-tightening can strip the brass thread or carb body.
- Verify the #50 size matches your engine's jetting requirements before fitting; consult a jetting chart or tuning guide for your specific carburettor model and application.
