Depressurise the fuel system and allow the engine to cool completely before beginning any hose replacement work.
Disconnect the fuel supply before removing the old hose to minimise spillage — have absorbent rags on hand.
Ensure the hose is pushed fully onto each fitting before seating and tightening the clamps.
Tighten clamps firmly but do not over-tighten; excess force can cut into the hose wall or deform it at the join.
After installation, run the engine briefly and inspect every connection for fuel seepage before riding.
Check the hose and clamps for cracking, swelling, hardening or weeping at each service interval, and replace at the first sign of deterioration.
If the motorcycle is stored for an extended period, inspect the hose condition before returning to service, as fuel residue can accelerate degradation.
Dispose of the removed hose and any fuel-contaminated materials in accordance with local environmental regulations.
