- Clean the outer shell with a soft cloth dampened in mild soapy water; avoid petrol-based solvents or harsh chemicals as they degrade both the polycarbonate shell and the semi-flat graphic finish.
- Clean the face shield separately in lukewarm water with mild soap; never wipe a dry shield as this scratches the lens surface.
- Fit a Pinlock 70 EVO insert into the face shield for cold or wet riding to significantly reduce fogging.
- Remove the SilverCool cheek pads and crown liner and hand-wash in cool water with mild detergent; allow all interior components to air-dry fully before refitting.
- Inspect the D-ring chin strap and webbing before each ride for signs of wear, fraying or corrosion; replace immediately if any damage is found.
- Check the face shield pivot mechanism periodically; if stiff, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the pivot points only — avoid petroleum-based lubricants near shell surfaces.
- Replace the helmet after any significant impact regardless of visible external damage — the EPS liner is a single-use energy absorber and may be compromised without obvious signs.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours and chemical exposure; use a soft helmet bag to protect the semi-flat finish from abrasion.
- As a general helmet industry guideline, retire and replace the helmet five years from its date of manufacture regardless of apparent condition.
