Clean the outer shell with a soft damp cloth and mild soap solution; avoid petroleum-based solvents, petrol, brake fluid or abrasive cleaners, which can degrade the shell finish and structural integrity.
Clean the outer visor with warm water and a soft microfibre cloth; never use dry paper towels or abrasive materials, as these will permanently scratch the visor surface.
To clean the inner sun visor, retract it fully and wipe gently with a soft damp cloth; avoid applying pressure at the edges where the mechanism is housed.
Remove the interior liner and cheek pads before washing; follow the garment care labels — typically a gentle cold-water hand wash — and allow all components to air dry completely before refitting.
Inspect the chin bar latch mechanism periodically to confirm it engages and releases cleanly under normal operating force; if resistance or play is noticed, have the mechanism inspected before further use.
Check the visor pivot and seal periodically for wear or deformation; a damaged seal reduces wind noise protection and visor retention.
Store the helmet in its supplied bag or a padded helmet bag, away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours, oils and extreme heat, all of which can degrade the EPS liner, shell and fabric over time without visible external damage.
Do not apply aftermarket paint, unauthorised stickers or chemical adhesives to the shell without confirming compatibility with the manufacturer; many solvent-based adhesives weaken composite shells.
Replace the helmet following any significant impact — even with no visible external damage — as the EPS liner absorbs energy by deforming internally and will not provide full protection in a subsequent impact.
