Clean the outer shell with a mild soap solution and a soft, damp cloth; never use petroleum-based cleaners, solvents or abrasive pads, as these degrade the shell and finish.
Clean the visor with lukewarm water or a dedicated visor cleaner and a soft lint-free cloth; never wipe a dry visor, as this causes micro-scratches.
Fit or replace the Pinlock insert according to the Pinlock manufacturer's instructions; ensure the seal pins seat correctly to prevent fogging.
Remove the interior liner and cheek pads by pulling the EQRS tabs and hand-wash with mild detergent in cool water; allow to air-dry completely before reinserting.
Lubricate the chin-bar hinge pivot points and visor mechanism periodically with a silicone-based lubricant; avoid petroleum-based greases.
Check that the flip-front latch engages firmly in both the open and closed positions before every ride; do not ride with a latch that feels loose or fails to click.
After any significant impact — even with no visible damage — retire the helmet from use, as composite shells can absorb impact energy invisibly.
Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel, oil and solvents; use a carry bag or a clean, flat surface that won't press on the shell.
Do not paint over the shell, block ventilation ports with stickers, or modify the structure in any way that could affect fit or protection.
Refer to HJC's documentation for the recommended service-life interval and replace the helmet accordingly.
