Clean the outer shell with a soft damp cloth and mild soap only — solvents, petrol, brake fluid and abrasive cleaners will damage the shell finish and underlying composite structure.
Clean the visor by first soaking any insects or debris with a wet cloth before wiping — never drag a dry cloth across a dry visor surface as this creates fine scratches that scatter oncoming headlights.
Clean the Pinlock insert by rinsing gently with warm water only; the Pinlock lens surface scratches very easily and must not be wiped dry with cloth.
Remove the interior liner and cheek pads and hand-wash them in warm water with mild detergent; rinse thoroughly and allow to air-dry completely before refitting — machine washing or tumble drying will degrade the foam and fabric.
Use the EQR (Emergency Quick Release) tab on the cheek pads periodically to confirm it operates freely, especially if the helmet has not been used for an extended period.
Do not apply stickers, paint, chemical polishes or strong adhesive products to the shell exterior, as these can compromise the structural integrity of the composite.
Store the helmet in a helmet bag or protective case in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, UV exposure, heat sources and fuel vapours — all degrade EPS foam and shell resins over time.
Replace the helmet after any significant impact, even when no visible damage is apparent — the EPS liner permanently deforms during impact and will not provide the same protection in a subsequent crash.
Replace the visor if it develops heavy scratching, crazing or a persistent fogged area that the Pinlock insert does not resolve.
The RPHA 71 is a runout colourway; sourcing replacement parts (visor, liner, cheek pads) before stock is fully exhausted in the aftermarket is advisable for long-term ownership.
