The HJC RPHA 71 is a premium full-face helmet designed for sport-touring riders who want high-performance protection without sacrificing comfort over long distances. Its P.I.M. Plus composite shell — combining carbon fibre, fibreglass, and organic fibres — achieves a lightweight yet rigid structure suited to both spirited road riding and extended touring.

The MAPOS edition in MC-1SF features a semi-flat (matte) red and black graphic finish. A retractable inner sun shield, an extensive channelling ventilation system, and a fully removable washable interior make it well suited to varied Australian riding conditions.

Wipe the outer shell with a soft damp cloth and mild soap; never use petroleum-based solvents, abrasive cleaners, paint thinners, or ammonia-based products, which can degrade the shell material and graphics.
Remove cheek pads and the interior liner before washing; hand-wash in cool water with a mild detergent, rinse thoroughly, and allow to air dry completely before reinserting — do not tumble dry or use a hair dryer.
Clean the face shield with warm water and mild soap using a soft microfibre cloth; avoid paper towels or abrasive materials that can scratch lens coatings and Pinlock pins.
Ensure the Pinlock 120 MaxVision insert is correctly seated on the shield's locking pins; a poor seal will allow moisture ingress and fogging — recheck seating if fogging recurs.
Operate the integrated sun shield via the left-side lever only; keep the slider channel free of grit and debris to ensure smooth, full deployment and retraction.
Replace the helmet after any significant impact, even when no visible damage is apparent — EPS liner foam compresses on impact and does not recover, reducing protection in a subsequent event.
Do not apply unapproved stickers, paints, or chemical treatments to the shell or visor; these can compromise structural integrity or damage coatings.
Store the helmet in a breathable carry bag in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours, and solvents when not in use.
Check the manufacture date on the inner label and replace the helmet in line with manufacturer guidelines — most premium helmets are recommended for replacement five years from the date of manufacture regardless of condition.
