Remove the interior lining and cheek pads before washing; check the care label — most HJC interiors support a gentle cold machine wash cycle.
Wipe the outer shell with a soft damp cloth and mild soap only; avoid petroleum-based solvents or abrasive cleaners that can degrade the polycarbonate shell and decals.
Clean the visor with a dedicated visor cleaner or diluted dish soap and a clean microfibre cloth; never wipe a dry visor as this causes fine surface scratches.
When operating the chin bar, use both hands and lift or lower it smoothly to avoid placing uneven stress on the hinge mechanism.
Inspect the chin bar locking mechanism before every ride to confirm it engages and holds securely.
If fitting a Pinlock anti-fog insert, ensure both visor pins are correctly seated and the insert seal makes full contact before riding in cold or wet conditions.
Pair any Bluetooth communication system to the helmet before setting off; follow the HJC Smart system's pairing instructions for reliable connection.
Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and fuel vapours; prolonged UV exposure degrades polycarbonate shells and can fade the finish.
Do not place the helmet on a painted fuel tank or any surface that may off-gas chemicals harmful to the shell or liner.
Replace the helmet after any significant impact, even where external damage is not visible; the EPS liner is a one-time energy absorber and cannot be inspected for internal crush damage.
