  • Clean the outer shell with a soft cloth dampened with mild soapy water; never use petrol, acetone, paint thinners or other solvents, which can degrade the polycarbonate shell and graphics.
  • Clean the visor with warm water and a small amount of mild detergent using a clean microfibre cloth; avoid dry wiping or abrasive materials that will scratch the lens surface.
  • Retract the SunShield fully before cleaning and store it in the closed position when not riding to protect the lens from scratches.
  • Remove the interior liner and cheek pads and hand-wash in cold water with mild detergent; allow all components to air-dry completely before refitting — do not tumble dry or use direct heat.
  • Inspect the helmet for cracks, dents or deformation after any impact, however minor; replace immediately if damage is found, as the EPS liner does not recover after absorbing an impact.
  • Replace the helmet if it is five or more years from its date of manufacture, or earlier if the shell, retention system or liner shows visible wear or deterioration.
  • Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours, and household chemicals, all of which accelerate degradation of shell and foam materials.
  • Do not apply paint, adhesive vinyl, stickers or aftermarket coatings to the shell unless explicitly approved by HJC, as these can compromise the structural integrity of the polycarbonate.
  • Fasten and check the retention system before every ride; replace the chinstrap if it shows fraying, cracking or loss of buckle function.
