Operations & maintenance

Clean the outer shell with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution; do not use petroleum-based cleaners, acetone, solvents or abrasive pads — these can degrade the shell material and semi-flat finish.
Clean the visor with a soft microfibre cloth and clean water only; avoid dry wiping or paper towels, which cause fine scratches in the polycarbonate lens.
Remove the interior liner and cheek pads before washing; hand wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before reinstalling.
Do not expose the helmet to petrol fumes, spray lubricants or paint thinners, as these chemicals can compromise the structural integrity of the shell and EPS foam.
Store in a padded helmet bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours and sources of heat such as car boots in summer.
Inspect the retention strap, buckle and D-rings regularly for signs of fraying, deformation or corrosion; do not use the helmet if the retention system is compromised.
Replace the helmet after any significant impact — EPS foam crushes on impact and does not return to its original protective capacity, even when no external damage is visible.
New cheek pads will feel firm and may cause slight pressure; this is normal and they will conform to your face over the first several rides.
