Clean the outer shell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap; avoid solvent-based cleaners, petrol or acetone, which can degrade the shell finish and graphic layers.
Clean the visor with warm soapy water or a dedicated visor cleaner and a lint-free cloth; never wipe a dry visor, as this causes fine scratches that impair vision.
Replace the Pinlock insert if hazing, discolouration or delamination appears around the edges, as a degraded insert will not provide effective anti-fog performance.
Remove the interior liner and cheek pads and wash them by hand in cool water with a mild detergent; follow the care label stitched into the liner. Allow to air-dry fully before refitting.
Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours and UV exposure, which can degrade foam liner density and shell integrity over time.
Do not rest the helmet on a fuel tank or any surface that may transfer hydrocarbons to the shell.
Inspect the D-ring chin strap retention system regularly for fraying or deformation; replace the strap if any damage is found.
After any significant impact — even if no visible damage is apparent — retire and replace the helmet; EPS foam does not visibly indicate internal crush damage.
As a general guideline, replace the helmet every five years from date of manufacture regardless of apparent condition, as materials degrade with age and UV exposure.
